Abstract

The restraint bars, esp. for a milking parlour in which the cows are milked from the rear, are designed to adjust automatically to the size of each animal, applying a pressure to the shoulders. They are released towards the front in a vertical and slightly horizontal movement by a mechanism including a power cylinder (7), two adjustable arms (5, 6), three stops (8, 11, 2) and a balance arm (10) with pivots (3, 9) at its two ends. It also has mobile supports (1) and a retaining arm (4). The power cylinder can be operated pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically, or in a variant by springs, cables and pulleys.

Cette invention se rapporte au domaine de la contention et plus précisément de la traite par l'arrière. Les installations de ce type ont l'avantage de nécessiter peu d'espace pour traire les animaux.

This invention relates to the field of restraint and more specifically to rear milking. Installations of this type have the advantage of requiring little space for milking animals.

Les contraintes techniques sont liées essentiellement à la bonne circulation des animaux qui se décompose en trois phases:
- phase 1: les animaux vont du parc d'attente vers la zone de
maintien, et se répartissent dans l'installation grâce au système
des portillons suivant les figures 1 et 2,
- phase 2: la barrière ramène les animaux vers l'arrière de la
zone de maintien, suivant la figure 3,
- phase 3: la barrière est libérée afin de permettre la sortie des
animaux, suivant la figure 4,
Différentes solutions sont proposées actuellement. L'une d'entre elles consiste en une barrière de maintien qui pivote autour d'un axe de rotation. Dans ce cas précis, la partie inférieure de la barrière vient heurter la tête de l'animal. Une autre solution consiste à prévoir une barrière constituée d'un ou plusieurs tubes qui sont ramenés au sol pour laisser passer les animaux.Cette solution a l'inconvénient de ne pas laisser un passage entièrement libre (tubes posés au sol)
D'une manière générale, la barrière de maintien dans de tels systèmes ne s'ajuste pas à la taille des animaux: les gros sont donc mieux maintenus que les plus petits.

Different solutions are currently proposed. One of them consists of a holding barrier which pivots around an axis of rotation. In this specific case, the lower part of the barrier strikes the head of the animal. Another solution is to provide a barrier consisting of one or more tubes which are brought back to the ground to allow animals to pass through. This solution has the disadvantage of not allowing a completely free passage (tubes placed on the ground)
Generally speaking, the holding barrier in such systems does not adjust to the size of the animals: the large ones are therefore better maintained than the smallest.

pneumatiques, électriques, ou hydrauliques ou tout système
s'en rapprochant...) (12)
(2) éléments commandés par un ensemble de ressorts (16),
(3) éléments commandés par un ensemble de câbles (20)
transmettant une force constante qui peut provenir soit d'un
vérin pneumatique ou électrique ou hydraulique ou tout autre
système permettant d'appliquer une force constante
indépendamment de la position du point d'application de celle
ci. Suivant la figure 9, I'effort du vérin (29) est réparti au moins
en deux efforts égaux.Dans le cas présent, un système de
poulies (30), (31) et (32), dont le nombre dépend du nombre
d'éléments mobiles à commander permet de transmettre la
force générée par le vérin (29) aux quatres points (33), (34),
