Abstract

The child's seat cushion folds into the back of the car seat when an adult is seated, and the underside of the child's seat is padded and trimmed to match the rest of the car seat. The interior of the main seat back has padding (4) to protect the child's back and the top padding (3) protects the child's head against injury by the seat frame. The child's seat cushion is restrained in the open position by the strap (13) which is anchored to the seat frame by a welded bracket (12). A four-strap harness, anchored to the main seat frame, secures the child in its seat. ADVANTAGE - The child is safely secured and space is saved at other times.
