Absorbent paper dispenser comprising a housing 1 containing a roll [spare roll] of absorbent paper 2 accessible through a reloading door and a paper outlet slot 4, the dispenser being characterised in that the dispenser also comprises, between the paper roll 2 and the outlet slot 4, a drive roller 7 turned by a geared motor 8, and a press roller 9, the directions of rotation being decided so that a length of paper 11 is fed towards the outlet slot 4, and a control device 12 designed to carry out a first function, which is to send power to the geared motor 8 on each request for a length of time determined by a first operation timing period which can be set by the installer to ensure the extraction of a given length of paper 11, and a second function which is to limit or space out excessive requests.
