Abstract
Description
Since the earliest times, man has used, to shave his beard, first of all, a wooden knife or a bone, then a metal blade, dry or with soaps or with cream . Electrical devices were then designed which, using rotating or vibrating blades, placed under a grid with micrometric opening, allow dry shaving. However, the result obtained is not always satisfactory when the beards are hard, because the hairs of the beard tend to lie down when the grid passes and therefore hardly penetrate through it to be cut by the rotating blades or vibrant.
We have improved these means as much as possible but the results are still very often
disappointing.
There is, in fact, a limitation of the shaving action by the impossibility of going with the blades beyond the plane of the epidermis and, consequently, in a few hours, the hairs grow back and become visible. ; it is therefore very often necessary to perform a second shave at the end of the day.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks by bringing about a radical change in the very hitherto unchanging principle of shaving, it is a shaving process carried out by an apparatus based on the thermokinetic principle without a blade.
The russeting of a hair, like the burning by the hairdressers of the tip of the hair, takes place in a fraction of a second. Contrary to what one might suppose, it is practically imperceptible by the skin. This can be seen by quickly passing the flame of a match tangentially in front of the back of the hand, which is placed vertically. The hairs burn up inside the pores without the skin feeling a burning sensation.
Several hours then pass, before the hairs reappear at the level of the skin, that is to say exactly in the position of a fresh shave with a blade.
The elimination of the hair by combustion (thermal blades) is therefore deeper because the russeting
goes back into the pores which is equivalent to a shaving time approximately double that obtained by the cut (ordinary blade), which cannot act beyond the plane of the epidermis.
In addition, shaving by russeting comparable to an erasing movement is much faster than by current conventional methods. Finally, the need to replace the worn blades of current devices is eliminated.
According to the new shaving technique, use is made of thermal energy brought by the radiation to the surface and to the interior of the tissues in a perfectly limited manner by using a laser beam or light blade whose parameters of use , the power and the duration of the shots are studied as a function of the distance from the surface of the tissue to allow removal of a hair by instantaneous combustion, volatilization, spraying or drying to a shallow depth of the epidermis.
According to the invention, a source emitting laser rays is used (argon laser, laser
Nd-Yag, laser C02) comprising devices for adjusting the temperature by adjusting the power used in connection with a shaving head.
According to another characteristic of the invention, radiation is used from a laser
Helium-Neon.
According to another feature of the invention, the power used is between 60 mW and 50W.
Various other characteristics of the invention will also emerge from the detailed description which follows.
An embodiment of the invention is shown, by way of nonlimiting example, in the appended drawing which shows a shaving head by laser light blade which can be connected by a single cord to a radio frequency (RF) power supply.
Fig. single is a perspective view of an apparatus comprising a continuous laser shaving head or which may be interrupted by the use of an obstruction flap animated by a rotary movement or a reciprocating movement or of any scanning system thus avoiding the rise in temperature, these systems possibly being able to lead to modifying the powers initially planned, for example by acting on the focusing.
The shaving device consists of an assembly l allowing a radio-frequency (RF) power supply which is linked by a simple cord 2 to a shaving head 10 with a miniaturized laser and therefore a part which is held in the hand by the user. .
Fig. single shows a shaving head 10 in the form of a T allowing along one of its genericeps 10a a slit which leads to laser radiation in the form of a blade a few centimeters in width.
Such a head 10, which forms the laser block, can be, in a manner known per se, cooled by a circulation of water which arrives either from an external source or from a cooling device incorporated in the radio frequency supply l.
This shaving head uses a light propagation guided by reflective walls placed in the head 10 thus forming a laser guide easily maneuverable even by a non-specialist who can
thus guiding low-power radiation provided with an adequate device to avoid overheating of the skin and a risk for the eyes since, as we know that high laser powers are capable of damaging certain visual cells.
It should be emphasized that the light blade can be of continuous or intermittent emission, static or mobile by means of a rotating screen # placed in the head or by a screen animated by a reciprocating movement. These different movements are most often obtained using an electric micro-motor and a very low power mechanical or magnetic transmission.
Of course, the equipment allowing the RF radio frequency supply of the laser head is mounted either on a fixed support 1 or on the contrary on a mobile support which can be easily moved from the mains supply which is most often a 220 Volts / 250 Volts AC power supply which is then rectified by a static rectifier. A control and adjustment console allows the shaver to be switched on and off.
We thus obtain, in an extremely short time, by applying the head 10, a perfect elimination of the downs of the skin and the beards. In the latter case, a repeated repeat intervention in humans is avoided, which remains well shaved for more than 24 hours.
Indeed, this device often makes it possible to obtain a perfect shave for 48 hours.
Although at present the types of laser defined above are the most interesting, since included in the power range from 60 mW up to 50
W and more particularly 3 W, it is also possible to use a Helium-Neon laser with a higher power but tempered by special forms and screens mounted on the shaving head.
