Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a shutter composed of a leaf which is flexible over part of its length, a flat end portion 2 of which is intended to be fixed on a support whilst its other, active end portion 4, which is also flat and situated in the same plane as the fastening end or in a plane which is substantially parallel to it, is connected by a flexible central part 8 to the first end portion 2 and is intended to interact with a seat provided around a fluid passage orifice. According to the invention, the orthogonal projection of the shutter on the fastening plane has the shape of an open washer. <IMAGE>

Description

 The present invention relates to a valve intended to close a pressurized fluid inlet orifice by applying to a seat, and to release this orifice when the liquid reaches a pressure threshold, the flow rate possibly being modulated as a function of the passage section.

Some valves consist of a flexible blade, a flat end portion of which is intended to be fixed on a support, while its other active end portion, also flat and situated in the same plane as the fixing end or in a plane which is substantially parallel to it, is connected by a flexible central part to the first end portion and intended to cooperate with a seat provided around a fluid passage orifice, by closing this orifice
These valves are generally rectilinear and are difficult to achieve when the length available between the fixing part and the active part is small, of the order of a few millimeters.

 The present invention relates to a blade valve of the above type, which is improved so as to remedy this drawback.

 The valve according to the invention is characterized in that its orthogonal projection on the fixing plane has the form of an open washer.

 In a particular embodiment of the invention, the flexible part of the valve is located in a plane parallel to the fixing plane and connected by camber to the entry parts.

 The invention is particularly applicable to power steering valves.

An embodiment of the valve according to the invention has been described below, by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawing in which
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the valve;
Figure 2 is a plan view;
Figure 3 is a section along III-III of Figure 2;
Figure 4 is a section along IV-IV of Figure 2.

 As shown in the drawing, the valve consists of a blade 1 which, in plan view, has the shape of an open washer, substantially circular.

 The end portion 2 of this blade is flat and non-deformable and is pierced with holes 3 for the passage of screws or fixing rivets.

 Its opposite end portion 4, which is also flat and non-deformable, constitutes the active part of the valve and is intended to be applied to a seat 5 to close the orifice 6 of a conduit 7 belonging to a hydraulic circuit.

 The central part 8 of the valve, comprised between the portions 2 and 4, is flexible and also planar, being situated in a plane parallel to the fixing plane defined by the end portion 2; it is connected to the end portions 2 and 4 by arches 9 and 10 respectively.

 The active planar portion 4 could, at rest, lie in the same plane as the fixing portion 2; but, in the example shown, it is simply parallel to it and is slightly offset by a calibrated distance corresponding to a leakage flow rate from the hydraulic circuit.

 The shape given to the blade 1 allows it to be given satisfactory flexibility, even if the distance between the active part 4 and the fixing part 2 is a few millimeters.

 It goes without saying that the present invention should not be considered as limited to the embodiment described and shown, but on the contrary covers all variants thereof.

Claims (4)

 1. Valve constituted by a flexible blade over a part of its length, of which a flat end portion 2 is intended to be fixed on a support while its other active end portion 4, also flat and located in the same plane as the the fixing end or in a plane which is substantially parallel thereto, is connected by a flexible central part 3 to the first end portion 2 and intended to cooperate with a seat provided around a fluid passage orifice, characterized in that its orthogonal projection on the fixing plane has the shape of an open washer
 2. Valve according to claim 1, characterized in that its flexible central part 8 is located in a plane parallel to the fixing plane.
 3. Valve according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that its flexible central part 8 is connected by camber 9 and 10 respectively to its fixing portion 2 and to its active portion A.
 4. Valve according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that, at rest, the plane of the active portion 4 is parallel to the plane of the fixing portion 2 and offset with respect to the latter by a calibrated distance corresponding to a leakage rate from the hydraulic circuit
