DESCRIPTION
SUPPORT METHODS IN UNDERGROUND WORKS
The present invention relates to a method for carrying out a continuous support between the frames (hangers or other) and the ground.

 The device comprises a permeable fabric sleeve filled with a specially prepared grout.

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended for supporting underground passages (galleries and wells) in bad ground.

 I) DESCRIPTION OF THE METHOD.

1.1. Principle of support by hanger, frame or other
The principle of support by hanger, frame or other, is to tighten the ground - as quickly as possible after digging, - as close as possible to the front, - on the entire periphery of the hanger, frame or other.

 The classic lining of the hangers by filling stone blocks behind mesh panels, allows only a discontinuous tightening between the frame, hanger or other, and the ground.

1.2 Principle of the new system (called DEPOL)
I1 is to introduce into a sleeve diameter 250 mm and beyond, permeable to water, in one piece and adapted to the length of the hanger, frame or other, and placed above the hanger, frame or other, with fixing by lacing, a cement grout more pumpable adjuvant allowing as a result of the swelling of the sleeve to block the ground on the entire periphery of the hanger, frame or other.

 The grout injected into the sleeve, under a pressure of a few bars, freezes after a few tens of minutes (normal duration: 30 minutes) and rises very quickly in resistance (15 to 20 bars at 6 pm, 50 bars at 24 hours, 150 bars at 7 days, with changes of more than 220 bars after 10 days).

 Adapted mesh screens are placed between the hangers, frames or the like to prevent small blocks from falling.

 2) MATERIALS.

2.1. Handle
Handle in Tergal 100/1000 or similar, permeable to water - diameter 250 mm or more, - length adapted to the hanger, frame or other, - fixed by straps of suitable length sewn on the lower periphery, - filling with a handle in Tergal or similar, diameter 90-mm and lon

2.2. Grout
The grout has 3 components:
1) a classic CPA or CPJ cement according to standards in force on the date

2) an adjuvant based on volcanic rock powder,
3) water.

3. MATERIAL AND IMPLEMENTATION.

 4. ADDITIVE TO THE "DEPOL" SYSTEM: USE OF PNEUMATIC CUSHIONS.

 The "DEPOL" system, achieving a continuous blocking of the ground on the entire periphery of the hanger, frame or other, does not allow the installation of a sleeve on the last front hanger because. you must be able to thread the spacers and the mesh panels on this hanger, frame or other, during the next advancement.

 To avoid a disintegration of the ground above the last hanger, frame or other, and to control the off-profile, the ground is temporarily supported by 2 or 3 pneumatic cushions placed on the spacers between the last and the penultimate (hanger , frame or other). These pneumatic cushions are only removed when the sleeve is injected on the hanger, frame or other, which was the last on the front, before the next advancement.

I) Installation and fixing of the sleeves on the feet,
J) Filling by injection of the sleeves,
K) Recovery of the air cushions at the back of the injected sleeves.

 6. CONCLUSION.

 The "DEPOL" system achieves a continuous blocking of the ground on the entire periphery of the hanger, frame or other, and makes it possible to restore the compression stresses, at every point of the perimeter of the gallery.

 I1 saves the intermediate elements of conventional support between hanger, frame or other, which are more or less effective (mesh more stone lining or other, very expensive in labor).

 The "DEPOL" system, which can be used immediately after the installation of hangers, frames or other, requires simple equipment, compact and quick to implement, and makes it possible to improve the digging and retaining speeds in difficult terrain.

 The whole of the implementation with simple materials and easily adaptable grouts, is perfectly compatible with the traditional support workforce.
