Abstract

A bag 1 which can be closed by bringing together two horizontal rods 5 attached to its top edges 5, is made to include a handle constituted by two flat symmetrical halves each comprising, in addition to one of the rods, a C-shaped hook 7 which is rooted in this rod and a horizontal protrusion 8 extending the free end of this hook in cantilever fashion, this protrusion being closer to the rod than is the top of the hook. This handle allows not only the carrying of the bag but also its lateral hanging on a horizontal bar.

Description

Improvements to the bag handles.

 The invention relates to handles for manually carrying bags.

 It is more specifically, among these handles, those equipping the bags whose upper opening, essentially defined by two parallel horizontal straight edges, is closed by a mutual juxtaposition of these two edges followed by their assembly one on the other, especially by buttoning.

 It is more particularly aimed, among said handles, those which are composed of two flat halves intended to be juxtaposed and secured against each other to form the handle, each of these halves being connected thereto, there a horizontal strip below itself even fixed against one of the two edges defining the opening of the bag, so that the horizontal juxtaposition of the two strips and their mutual subjection, made at the same time as those of the two demipoignées, ensure the closure of the bag.

 The handles of the type in question and the strips which extend them inferiorly have the double advantage of allowing easy and effective closure of the bag and a port of this bag both simple and str, the grip of the handle having itself the effect of keeping the two halves of this handle tight against each other and thus keeping the two strips juxtaposed and the bag closed.

 But in the known embodiments, these handles have a closed contour, which does not lend itself to the suspension of the bag on a horizontal bar by simple lateral hooking, in the manner of clothes hangers.

 To overcome this drawback, it has already been proposed to extend the upper strand or carrying the closed handle by an upper hook suitable for this type of suspension.

 But for reasons of balancing the load supported, this hook must be substantially in the middle of the width of the bag, as also the handle of the handle.

 Said hook is therefore in the middle of said strand, which both limits its size and makes wearing the bag unpleasant, the hook in question being housed in the hand that grips the handle and coming to bear against the palm of this hand .

 The invention aims, above all, to remove this disadvantage while allowing both a comfortable wearing of the bag and a safe lateral suspension of the bag to a horizontal bar or the like.

 For this purpose, the handles of the kind in question according to the invention are essentially characterized in that each of their halves is constituted by a C hook whose lower flange takes root in the corresponding strip, in the vicinity of the middle thereof and the side, of this medium, opposite to the one to which the C is open, and whose upper flange has an end closer to said strip than the top of the hook, this end being extended in the door-to-side by a suitable horizontal spout gripping by a hand whose index would be in contact with the upper edge of the hook cavity.

In preferred embodiments, one or more of the following provisions are also used:
the upper edge of the cavity of the hook has a substantially semi-circular contour whose diameter is between 2 and 2.5 cm and the length of the horizontal beak is of the order of 6 to 7 cm,
the zone where the C hook takes root in the strip is widened downwards in a triangle,
- the triangle according to the preceding paragraph. is substantially isosceles, the equal angles of this triangle being between 30 and 600,
the triangular zone is perforated right through with a light allowing manipulation of the bag at a distance by means of hooks fixed on poles and introduced into this light,
each half of the handle is constituted by a half-shell capable of forming, during its juxtaposition against the other half, a shell with a rounded outer surface.

 The invention includes, apart from these main provisions, certain other provisions which are preferably used at the same time and which will be more explicitly discussed. below apt.

 In what follows, we will describe a preferred embodiment of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawing in a manner of course not limiting.

 Figure 1, of this drawing, shows ,. portions removed, a bag equipped with a handle according to the invention.

 Figures 2, 3 and 4 show this handle on a larger scale, respectively in side view and in sections along III-III and IV-IV, Figure 2.

 The bag to equip 1 is constituted, in a manner known per se, by a flexible sheet, in particular waterproof plastic, and is in the empty state in the form of two rectangular panels juxtaposed. joined together in a lower sealed manner - in particular by a weld line 2 - and laterally - in particular by means of bellows presenting a re-entrant fold edge 3 - but not higher: the two horizontal upper edges 4 of the panels in question are rectilinear, parallel and delimit the opening of the bag.

 The handle of this bag is constituted by two flat elements substantially symmetrical to each other with respect to a vertical plane along which they are intended to be juxtaposed.

 Each of these two flat elements comprises a lower horizontal strip 5 adhered, in particular by welding, against an upper edge 4 of the bag and a fastening member 6 forming the actual handle and extending upwards from the strip 5 .

 This member 6 comprises successively a hook 7 in C and a horizontal beak 8.

 The lower flange of the hook 7 takes root in the corresponding strip 5.

To ensure balancing of the transported or suspended bag, the root in question 9 is slightly offset relative to the middle of the slide 5 in the opposite direction to that of the opening of the C: in other words, if the
C is open to the right (case of Figures 1 and 2), the shift in question is made to the left.

 More precisely, this offset is such that the top of the C is substantially above the middle of the ruler.

 The root 9 is very largely flared down.

 The outline defining this root has the general shape of an isosceles triangle whose equal angles are of the order of 45, being more generally between 300 and 600.

This triangular shape of the contour of the root 9 is at least observed on the opposite side to the opening of the C, where said contour is constituted by an oblique straight side 91
The upper end of this oblique side 9 joins almost tangentially the outer contour of C in the upper half thereof.

 The other oblique triangle side 92 is hollowed out and rounded so as to continue without a sharp angle the curved profile of the internal cavity of the C and to connect to the ruler quite far from the body of the hook, at a relatively small angle, and by example of twisting 70.

 The upper flange of the hook C is rounded and extends beyond the top of C in that its end is closer to the strip 5 than this top.

 It is said end which is extended cantilevered by the horizontal beak 8.

 This beak is dimensioned so as to be easily taken in hand.

 More specifically, it is designed to provide a comfortable grip to the three fingers, the hand, other than the thumb and forefinger, the thumb naturally coming to rest on the upper beach 10 of the top of the hook 7 and the index coming from housed "niciously in the cavity of said hook by coming into contact with the upper edge 11 of this cavity.

 This edge 11 has a semicircular profile open downwards and is connected at one of its lower ends to the lower bearing area 12 of the spout 8 by a notch 13 with rounded ridge.

 The length of this carrying range 12 is generally of the order of 6 to 7 cm and the diameter of the semicircular edge 11 is generally between 2 and 2.5 cm.

 The end 14 of the spout 8 is rounded in a semicircle.

 The vertical width of this spout 8 may be greater than the radial width of the hook 7, its upper side can then be connected tangentially to the upper range 10 of the top of the hook being then oblique or horizontal.

 in the preferred case, this vertical width of the spout is of the same order of magnitude as the radial width of the hook, namely of the order of 15 gm and more generally between 10 and 20 mm.

 In the latter case, the entire hook 7 and spout 8 which extends the general appearance of a duck head.

 A circular, recessed light 15 in the triangular root 9 of the hook serves to receive pole-fixed fangs for remote handling purposes.

 Pins 16 projecting horizontally on one of the flat elements 5-6 are suitable for coagulating for buttoning purposes with complementary holes 17 recessed facing in the other flat element.

 These 16-hole lug assemblies 17 are advantageously four in number, located respectively in the body of the hook 7, in the body of the spout 8 and in two lugs 18 (FIG. 1) projecting upward from each strip 5 in the vicinity. respectively of the two extremities of this slider.

 Each flat element 5-6 is advantageously constituted by a molded plastic such as high density polyethylene, but it could also be made of a metal, for example embossed.

Said flat element must be shaped in such a way that, when it is horizontally juxtaposed against the symmetrical flat element, the carrying surfaces formed for the hand at 11 and 12 are
- On the one hand sufficiently wide to distribute as much as possible on the load-bearing fingers the load to be carried and thus reduce the specific pressure exerted by this load on these fingers,
- and on the other hand exeqtes sharp edges likely to hurt the fingers.

 In the preferred embodiment illustrated, each flat element 5-5 is constituted by a half-shell capable of forming, by juxtaposition against the complementary half-shell, a hollow shell having a continuous and rounded outer surface, only the strips 5 remaining solid. as well as clearly visible in FIG.

 The shells in question advantageously have a thickness of about 2 mm.

 The implementation of the handle described above is as follows.

 After introduction into the bag of the objects to be transported, this bag is closed by mutually bringing the two flat composite elements 5-6 together, then assembling these two elements against each other by depressing the pins 16 in the holes 17 facing each other. .

 It is then enough for the user to grip by hand the spout 8 by placing his index finger against the scope 11 of the hook.

This catch is at once
- Easy to achieve, since it can be ensured laterally as well in the direction of the strips as in the direction perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the handle,
- comfortable, given the rounded shape and relatively large extent of the bearing surfaces,
- And safe, no horizontal sliding of the handle out of the hand not to fear because of the attachment of the index in the door 11, hooking provided by horizontal stop of the notch 13 against this index.

 In addition, it is extremely easy to suspend the bag to a horizontal support such as a horizontal bar having a diameter of 2 cl since it is sufficient to overlap laterally this bar successively by the range 12, then by the reach 11 located vertically recessed relative to this scope 12, the unintentional horizontal release of the bag then suspended outside said bar being made impossible by horizontal stop of the notch 13 against this bar.

 In addition, the remote handling is made very simple by the presence of the lights 15 which, in the finished handle, are juxtaposed axially and form a hole through this handle from side to side.

 It may also be noted that the overall height of the handle is relatively small for a given height of the recess intended to receive the hand of the wearer of the bag, which is an advantage for the storage, transport, ... of such handles.

 Following which, and regardless of the embodiment adopted, it finally has a bag whose constitution, implementation and benefits result sufficiently from the foregoing.

 As it goes without saying, and as it already follows from the foregoing, the invention is not limited. in no way to those of its modes of application and realization which have been more especially erased; it embraces, on the contrary, all variants.

Claims (6)

 1. Bag handle constituted by two flat halves intended to be juxtaposed and secured against each other, each of these halves being connected to a lower horizontal strip itself fixed against one of the parallel edges essentially delimiting the opening of the bag, so that the horizontal juxtaposition of the two strips and their mutual subjection, made at the same time as those of the two half-handles, ensure the closure of the bag, characterized in that each of said flat halves comprises of on the one hand a hook (7) in C whose lower wing root in the corresponding strip (5), in the vicinity of the middle thereof and the side of this medium, opposite to that to which the C is open, and whose upper flange has an end closer to said ruler than the top of the hook, and secondly a horizontal beak (8) extending cantilevered said end, said spout being adapted to its grip by a hand whose folded index would bear against the upper edge (llr of the hook cavity.  2. Bag handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper edge (11) of the hook cavity has a substantially semicircular contour whose diameter is between 2 and 2.5 cm and that the length the horizontal beak (8) is of the order of 6 to 7 cm.  3. Handle bag according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the area (9) where the hook (7) C rooted in the strip (5) is widened downwardly in a triangle.  4. Bag handle according to claim 3, characterized in that the triangle (9) is sensitive isosceles, the equal angles of this triangle being between 300 and 600.  5. Handle bag according to any one of claims 3 and 4, characterized in that the triangular zone (9) is perforated from one side by a light (15) allowing manipulation of the bag at a distance with the aid of fangs fixed on poles and introduced into this light.  6. Handle bag according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each handle half is constituted by a half-shell adapted to form, when it juxtaposition against the other half, a hollow shell with an outer face rounded.
