Abstract

The fastener for use on foldable seat backrests has an anchoring plate (4), to which the end (6) of the seat belt with a lock (7) is attached. The plate has a hole (18) corresponding with the hole (19) on a bracket (3) fixed to the car body. The plate is kept locked to the bracket by bolt (11) operating in a housing (14), attached to an element (12) and loaded in disengaging direction by a spring (13). The disengaging is prevented by a stop (15), fitted on the underside of the foldable backrest (2). When the latter is in the upright position the stop abuts against the inclined surface of the attachment element. When the backrest is swung forward, the spring pushes the bolt out of engagement.
