Abstract

The glove (1) is equipped on the outside with a reinforcing piece (2) covering the zone corresponding to the palm (3) and to the thumb (4). One or more reinforcement layers (5), in material which is stronger than the glove, are interposed between the glove (1) and the reinforcement piece (2). The reinforcement layer (5) is preferably a metallic or plastic mesh.

Description

 The present invention relates to a work glove provided externally and the part corresponding to the palm and thumb of a reinforcement piece of the same material as the glove.

 Such gloves are used for the purpose of protecting the hands and avoiding accidents, in particular when handling objects provided with sharp edges such as for example toroids, windows, metallic ribbons. One of the disadvantages of these gloves is their fairly limited duration, because indeed during use and despite the presence of the reinforcement piece they lacerate on the parts corresponding to the palm and thumb and particularly in the area of the Eminence Thénar , that is to say at the points where contact with the sharp edges of the handled objects is most frequent. This results in a serious prejudice to the safety of the hands who wear such gloves and it is necessary to provide for their substitution despite the fact that the other parts of the glove, for example the back, are very little worn.

 The object of the present invention is to produce a glove of the type described above which overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages by making it possible to extend the use of such a glove, which thus becomes more economical, and by ensuring better protection for the wearer.

 The glove according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one reinforcing layer interposed between the glove and the reinforcing piece, consisting of a trellis having a resistance greater than that of the glove material.

 In FIG. 1, the reference 1 indicates the work glove provided with a reinforcement piece 2 of the same material as the glove, sewn on the outside the part corresponding to the palm 3 and the thumb 4 of the glove 1.

Usually both the glove 1 and the reinforcing piece 2 are made of skin; however, it is also possible to use any other flexible synthetic material capable of ensuring good grip and adhesion of the surface of the body to be handled. Between the reinforcement piece 2 and the zone corresponding to the palm 3 and the thumb 4 is interposed a reinforcement layer 5 consisting of a mesh made of a material having a greater resistance than that of the glove material preferably this mesh will be a wire mesh or plastic material with high resistance.

 The reinforcing layer 5 is sewn to the glove 1 together with the reinforcing piece 2 with the same seam.

Because the resistance of the mesh, constituting the reinforcing layer 5, is greater than that of the material constituting the glove 1 and the reinforcing part 2, the duration of use and the protective efficiency of the glove are increased, and it is possible to increase them even more by interposing between the glove 1 and the reinforcement piece 2 several reinforcing layers 5. This gives a glove offering protection equal to that desired and the duration of use is increased.

Work glove (1) provided, externally and at the part corresponding to the palm (3) and the thumb (4), with a reinforcement piece (2) of the same material as the glove, characterized in that 'It comprises at least one reinforcement layer (5) interposed between the glove (1) and the reinforcement piece (2), consisting of a mesh having a resistance greater than that of the glove material.  2. Glove according to claim 1, characterized in that said reinforcing layer (5) consists of a metal mesh.  3. Glove according to claim 1, characterized in that said reinforcing layer (5) consists of a plastic mesh.
