Description

 The present invention relates to a device intended to improve the grip on the ground of a tractor comprising, coupled at the front or at the rear on a three-point lifting device, soil working tools, such as, for example, a plow fitted with a gauge wheel.

 Currently there is a tendency to produce tools which make it possible, by a single passage of tractor, to cover the largest possible surface. These tools are of two types either they are carried, that is to say mounted on the three-point lifting device of the tractor, or semi-carried, that is to say that they are supported, on the one hand , by the three-point lifting device of the tractor at one end, and at the other end, at an intermediate point of their length, on the other hand, by a wheel.

 With the implements being more and more important and heavier, the tractor is unbalanced, and therefore tends to pitch up. If the front axle is driven, its adhesion is poor and therefore said axle is ineffective. As all the weight is transferred to a single axle, the working conditions of the tractor are poor, moreover there is a compaction of the ground at the level of the driving wheels which, agronomically, is very bad. On the other hand, the vertical load applied to the tractor is important.

 Tools with a gauge wheel partially overcome these drawbacks. Indeed, such a wheel makes it possible to perfectly follow the unevenness of the terrain. On the other hand, since part of the weight of the tools is supported by the wheel, the vertical load applied to the tractor is reduced, which, in certain cases, is a serious drawback.

Indeed, for a given grip, the greater the vertical load on the tractor, the greater the capacity of the tractor.

 The present invention aims to create a device which allows, on the one hand, the advantages of mounted assemblies without having the disadvantages and, on the other hand, the advantages of semi-carried hitches, the disadvantages of these being eliminated. .

The device according to the invention is intended to be mounted on an assembly comprising a tractor and soil working tools, said tractor being provided with a three-point lifting device comprising two lifting arms and a third point bar, while the soil working tools are provided, on the one hand, with means for coupling them to the three-point lifting device and, on the other hand, a gauge wheel partially supporting the tools at work, and is characterized in that that the third point bar is constituted by a hydraulic cylinder while the gauge wheel is connected, on the one hand, to means for controlling the shortening of the hydraulic cylinder in response to a vertical force applied to said gauge wheel and exceeding a determined threshold, and on the other hand, means for controlling the elongation of the hydraulic cylinder in response to a vertical force applied to said gauge wheel and located below a determined threshold.

Thanks to this arrangement, it will be possible to maintain in all working conditions a vertical load applied to the tractor as a function of the vertical load supported by the gauge wheel and thus allow the tractor to work with its maximum capacity as a function of the effort to be provided. . According to a particular embodiment, the gauge wheel is supported by a bar mounted vertically movable on a support against elastic means, electrical contacts of circuits controlling the intake and bleed solenoid valves of the hydraulic cylinder being provided. so that the displacement of the bar controls the corresponding circuit.

According to a particular ponstructive characteristic, the support comprises a sleeve in which the bar supporting the gauge wheel slides, said sleeve comprising a lateral tab supporting a rod for guiding a compression spring, said rod passing through a tab integral with the bar, the compression spring being inserted between a stop of the rod and the tab integral with the bar, the latter tab being provided with a first electrical contact intended to cooperate with a fixed electrical contact when the force applied to the gauge wheel exceeds a determined threshold, these contacts being inserted on the electrical circuit of a corresponding solenoid valve, and a second electrical contact intended to cooperate with a fixed electrical contact when the vertical force applied to the gauge wheel is located below a determined threshold, these latter contacts being inserted into the electrical circuit of a corresponding solenoid valve.

Finally; according to a last characteristic applied to a reversible plow comprising an age and, on either side of it, plowshares and moldboards, the support of the gauge wheel is mounted tilting on the age so that in the two active positions of the plow, the gauge wheel supports said plow, means being provided for wedging said support in the two said positions and releasing it during the overturning of said plow.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to a particular embodiment given by way of example only and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which
Fig. 1 is a schematic elevational view of a tractor-plow assembly with a device according to the invention.

Fig. 2 is a schematic sectional view showing the mounting of the gauge wheel.

Fig. 4 is a sectional view along line IV IV of FIG. 2.

In Figure 1, there is shown a plow I which is coupled to the three-point lifting device 3 of a tractor 2. In this example, the three-point lifting device 3 is located at the front of the tractor 2 and the plow I am therefore pushed to work. One could, of course, use the device according to the invention with a plow drawn at the rear of a tractor and possibly with an assembly comprising two plows, one at the front and the other at the rear of a same tractor.

The three-point lifting device 3 comprises two lifting arms 4 on which a hitch 5 provided on the head of the plow is fixed, said hitch comprising an axis 6 for fixing the arm 7 of the third point. In principle, the third point arm consists of a simple adjustable length bar. In the device according to the invention, the third point arm consists of a single-acting hydraulic cylinder, connected by a suitable pipe 8 to a distributor 9.

 The distributor 9 is arranged to enable the jack 7 to be supplied, to hold the jack. 7 at a certain pressure and put the cylinder supply in the open air.

The plow I, at its free end, - has on its age 10 a gauge wheel 26.

The gauge wheel 26 (see FIGS. 2 and 4? Is brought by a support 1i and is mounted idly on an axle 12 carried by a yoke 13 whose core is integral with a square seetion bar 14.

Age 10 is attached to the sideAent of a horizontal bearing 15 extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of age 10 and attached to a crown 16 comprising two notches 17 and 18 offset by 180.

In the bearing 15 is mounted a spindle 19 secured to a square section sleeve 20 in which is engaged the bar 14, the latter being able to slide in said sleeve.

The sleeve 20 carries on a side 21 a yoke 22 crossed by an axis 23 on which pivots a lock 24 intended to cooperate selectively with the notches 17 and 18.

The sleeve 20 on a face 27 opposite the face 21 has a lug 28 which is pierced with a hole 29. In which a rod 30 is engaged. The rod 30 at its upper end comprises a hexagon 31 and two knolls 32 and 33 so that it can rotate freely but is axially fixed.

The rod 30 and provided with a thread 35 on which is screwed a nut 36 bearing by an edge 37 against the face 27.

On the bar 14 is fixed a tab 38 which passes through an elongated opening 39 of the sleeve 2d, said tab having a hole 46 aligned with the hole 29 and crossed by the rod 30.

Between the lug 38 and the nut 36 is inserted a compression spring 47 engaged on the rod 30, the lower end of which comprises a stop 48.

The lug 38 carries a first contact 40 intended to cooperate with a contact 41 carried by the sleeve 20 and a second contact 42 intended to cooperate with a contact 43 carried by said sleeve 20.

By acting on the hexagon 31, the setting of the spring 47 can be modified.

The distributor 9 is controlled by electrical circuits and comprises a drawer with three positions, an intermediate position A in which the oil is sucked in from a tarpaulin 45 and returned directly therein, a position
B in which the oil sucked into the cover 45 is sent -in the jack 7 and a position C in which the jack 7 is directly connected to the cover 45. The distributor is arranged so as to return normally to the position
A, that is to say that the cylinder 7 is maintained at a determined length corresponding to normal work. If the vertical force applied to the wheel 26 exceeds a determined threshold, threshold defined by the setting of the spring 47, the bar 14 moves upwards and the contact 40 comes to bear against the contact 41, the corresponding electrical circuit is closed and the slide 9 is then controlled so as to be placed in position B and the jack receives oil under pressure so it's shortened. As soon as the working conditions return to normal under the action of the spring 47, the contacts 40 and 41 move apart and the slide valve returns to position A. If, on the contrary, the vertical thrust applied to the wheel 26 becomes less than one threshold determined by the spring 47, the bar 14 pushed by the spring 47 moves downwards and the contacts 42, 43 close the electrical control circuit of the drawer 9 which then comes to be placed in the position C. In this case, the cylinder 7 tends to lengthen since its cylinder is directly connected to the return to tank 45.

The figures show an application of the device to a reversible plow. At the time of the reversal, the latch 24 emerges from the notch 17 and the axis 19 can rotate freely in the bearing 15 so that by its own weight the support 11 pivots by 1800. When the plow has rotated, the notch 18 is located upwards, while the notch 17 is turned downwards and the latch 24.

 is placed in the notch 18. When the plow is again pivoted, it will return to the initial position shown in FIG. 2.

Thanks to this arrangement, the setting of the setting of the spring 47 can be carried out only once whatever the coulters at work.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described and which has been shown, it is possible to make numerous modifications of details without departing from the scope of the invention for this.

Claims (5)

 10 - Device intended to improve the grip on the ground of a tractor (2) carrying tools (1) for working the soil, said tractor being provided with a three-point lifting device (3) comprising two lifting arms ( 4) and a third point bar (7) while the soil working tools (1) are provided, on the one hand, with means (5) for coupling them to the three-point lifting device, and, on the other hand, a gauge wheel (26) partially supporting the tools at work, characterized in that the third point bar (7) is constituted by a hydraulic cylinder while the gauge wheel (26) is connected, on the one hand, to means for controlling the shortening of the hydraulic cylinder (7) in response to a vertical force applied to said gauge wheel and exceeding a determined threshold, and, on the other hand, to means - for controlling the elongation of the hydraulic cylinder (7) in response to a vertical force applied to said gauge wheel (26) and located below a threshold determined.
 20 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the gauge wheel (26) is supported by a bar (14) mounted vertically movable on a support (11) against elastic means (47), electrical contacts (40, 41, 42, 43) of circuits controlling the intake and drain solenoid valves. of the hydraulic cylinder (7) being provided so that the displacement of the bar (14) controls the corresponding circuit.
 30 - Device according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that the support (11) comprises a sleeve (20) in which slides the bar (14) supporting the gauge wheel (26) said sleeve having a side tab (28) supporting a rod (3Q) for guiding a compression spring (47), said rod passing through a lug (38) integral with the bar (14), the compression spring (47) being inserted between a stop (36) of the rod (30) and the tab (38) integral with the bar (14), the latter tab (38) being provided with a first electrical contact (40) intended to cooperate with a fixed electrical contact (41) when the force applied to the gauge wheel (26) exceeds a determined threshold, these contacts being inserted on the electrical circuit of a corresponding solenoid valve, and a second electrical contact (42) intended to cooperate with a fixed electrical contact (43) when the vertical force applied to the gauge wheel (26) is located below a determined threshold, the latter cont acts being inserted on the electrical circuit of a corresponding solenoid valve.
 40 - Device according to claims 2 and 3 characterized in that the stop 36 against which bears one of the ends of the compression spring (47) is adjustable along the rod (30) to modify the calibration of said spring (47 ).
