Abstract

The bed which folds up into a seat with a back-rest consists of three panels (1,2,3) hinged together and each formed of two lengthwise struts between which are stretched springs forming the mattress base. The back-rest is formed by one of the end panels (3), with the other end panel (1) folded to rest against the central panel (2). The back-rest is hinged to the legs (12,15) of the folded back panel, and is held in an inclined position by abutting against a fixed stop. When the frame is in the chair configuration, the folded legs are held against the two longitudinals of the back-rest by rings (16).
