Abstract

The semi-automatic mould is used to produce precast concrete slabs. It has a self-propelled linearly reciprocating transfer carriage (13) to move filled moulds (6) to a storage area (14). The carriage is mounted on a fixed superstructure (1) which also locates a concrete supply hopper (2) and a horizontal vibrating table (5). The hopper may inc. a jack (4)-actuated shutter (3), sited above the table (5) which receives empty moulds. The carriage may be mounted on grooved wheels (18) and travel on rails (17), propelled by a chain drive. It can occupy three alternative positions i.e. over the table (x-x) at the point (y-y) of mould deposition, and an intermediate waiting station (z-z). The carriage has a jack (31)-actuated beam and pivot hooks (25) by which a mould is grappled and lifted. The table (5) is of the elevator type.
