Abstract

The machine comprises a vertical wheel (4) mounted on a horizontal shaft and carrying receptacles around its circumference. Each receptacle is in the form of a bucket, one side (6a) being fixed and the other (6b) mobile. This latter side has a spring loaded lever (7,8,9) operated by a cam (10). At the top, each receptacle is fully open to receive seed from a hopper-fed distributor wheel (2,3). The receptacle closes as it descends and pierces the plastic sheet to a predetermined depth. At the bottom, the receptacle partly opens to deposit the seed in the hole.
