Abstract

Barge for laying pipelines from a winder mounted on the bridge comprises a central ramp at the front and a channel at the rear. Centrla ramp at the front is fitted with a tension regulating device, a charging tunnel and a trumpet widening to a device for transverse displacement across the drum of the winder placed at the base of the drum. Channel at the rear takes the tube from the top of the winder. It incorporates a frame for supporting the curved ramp for winding off the pipeline, a machine for putting the pipeline under tension, a vertical work chamber and a trumpet for symmetrical laying over 360 degrees. System allows continuous laying of a long pipeline, pretested, wound on a drum with horizontal axis, at great depth, without the stresses attained exceeding the elastic range and independently of the position of support, which can thus advance while being oriented head to the wave.
