Abstract

A directional valve having three positions is branched into the lines between the pump and the feed circuits to the double-acting jack and the hydraulic motor winding the reels for the traction cables, in the hydro-electrical command of a machine for skinning carcases. The directional valve is commanded by a selector which also controls the position of two interrupting valves connected into two circuits, which feed, under the control of a potentiometer, two regulators of choke valves which proportion the delivery through the hydraulic circuits providing power for the jack and the motor. Machine which supersedes those existing the functioning of which can only be adjusted by stopping the machine, which in any case, has to be adjusted to the worst cases, and consequently keeps output low. The operator can adapt the winding speed and the lifting of the reel by the jack, on the one hand to the specific conditions of the species of animal being handled, and on the other with regard to the different conditions of adhesion of the skin to the carcase, which are met with during the stripping of the hide from a given animal.
