Abstract

The building system utilises precast concrete components with wall panels fitting between columns of an 'L', 'T', 'X' or 'Y' section, including post-tensioned prestressing, to connect components. Both wall panels and columns may include preformed horizontal ducts which follow longitudinal wall centre lines, the ducts locating site placed high tensile bars which are stressed and anchored at wall extremities. The components may incorporate two ducts positioned above and below window openings, and mating component faces may have a compound interlocking trapezoidal tongue and groove section including compressible seals.
