Abstract

The earth termination comprises a split ring (D), with conical end faces, which is damped around the cable via a screw-nut (B). A further ring (C) is inserted between the screw-nut and the split ring and is free to rotate relative to the latter, the final part of the termination comprising a screw element (14) onto which the screw-nut is screwed. This further ring has a threaded section (C1) fitting within the screw-nut and when the ring and screw-nut are secured together they can rotate freely relative to one another. The split ring and the further ring are snap fitted together.
