Abstract

The structural member is for use in a building erected from prefabricated components. It comprises a support plate (1) and a post (2) solidly secured together, and incorporating inter-engaging elements (4, 5) to allow two posts to be secured together, one above the other. The post can be perpendicular to the support plate, which can extend round part of its periphery at least. Both plate and post can be round, or the plate can be polygonal.
