Abstract

L'invention consiste en un nouveau type d'appareillage orthopédique amélioré pour applications vétérinaires, destiné à remplacer avantageusement les méthodes actuelles telles que le plâtrage ou les attelles lorsqu'il est nécessaire d'immobiliser et maintenir un membre en vue d'une guérison. Une barre métallique ou plastique plate, d'épaisseur et largeur appropriées est cintrée de manière à prendre appui sur une partie résistante du corps, telles que les lombes pour les membres postérieurs, ou les épaules pour les membres antérieurs, et recourbée au droit du pied pour servir de semelle. Un bandage emprisonne les lombes (ou les épaules) ainsi que le membre blessé le long de la barre rigide. Le membre est ainsi supporté et immobilisé pendant le temps nécessaire à la guérison, sans risque de faux mouvement qui pourrait la compromettre. Cet appareillage laisse par ailleurs la liberté de mouvement sur les membres valides, et n'apporte aucune gêne aux mâles pour uriner. Pour répondre à la grande diversité des morphologies, la prothèse peut être prévue en plusieurs éléments de grandeurs différentes que par combinaison on peut ajuster à la taille voulue.
