Abstract

Foreign matter is removed from the pores of the human skin by rubbing an emulsion with magnetic or magnetisable particles in the skin and its pores. A permanent magnet is then applied to extract the magnetic particles together with the foreign matter. A flexible and porous film, clamped to the magnet, retains the particles with the foreign matter and is thrown away after use. This saves the laborious cleaning of the magnet and makes the operation hygienically unobjectionable, even when different persons are treated in turn.
