Abstract

The self watering plant growing vessel is a plastics moulding with a double shell acting as a water reservoir, and enclosing a sunken central part holding the flower pots or a layer of earth or suitable cultivation medium. Low down the inner wall of the shell are two holes one above the other. Above the level of these two holes is a partition forming a chamber holding a thin layer of water. The upper hole is an air hole for this chamber, and the lower hole is the water supply hole. The plant pots fit into holes through this partition. The air hole is capillary hole to determine the water flow.
