Abstract

Self-retracting trigger for large caliber weapons. A pivoting trigger is connected by a control shaft to a thrust sleeve movable on a percussion piece, linked to the striker ensuring its return to the initial position in order to move it axially. An annular shoulder of the movable part in the thrust sleeve is in contact with a projection constituting a movable support for a return spring. A spring rests on one face of said shoulder, so that the latter rests by its other face against a spring-loaded pawl. The trigger only releases the pawl when the sleeve, pushed forward by the trigger, has cleared the way for the workpiece by compression of the return spring. By moving back the sleeve drives the part to bring it back to the initial position. Applications in particular to mortars.
