Abstract
Cooling arrangement for electrical machines generally where some form of forced air ventilation is essential and is directed at machines where air intake and exhaust has to be from one end only. Both the stator (7) and rotor (6) have cooling channels, the air flow through them being controlled by a screen. The screen divides the stator into two halves and forms a semi-circular wall around the rotor. Air enters at one end of the machine and flows through the rotor channels and one half of the stator. The return path is through the remaining half of the stator. The air intake (8) and exhaust ports (9) are placed at such an angle as to achieve maximum efficiency.
