Ce procédé consiste à refroidir un chlore brut en présence d'eau de manière à provoquer la cristallisation du chlore contenu dans le chlore brut sous la forme de cristaux d'hydrate de chlore, à séparer les autres composants contenus dans le chlore brut des cristaux d'hydrate de chlore et à décomposer ces cristaux pour obtenir le chlore gazeux. c.
