Abstract

Rigid cellular plastic sheet is laminated to a plasterboard support by an interfacial coating of heated bitumen, tar or asphalt to obtain instant bonding and avoid the post-lamination drying required when aq. or solvent based adhesives are used. Pref. the coating and lamination is integrated into a continuous fabrication process for producing foam-cored plasterboard sandwich laminates typically 2-15 cm. thick and 1.2-2.5 m. area.
