Abstract

The base outlet of a dough supply hopper is sealed by the circumference of a cylindrical depositor drum. The drum oscillates angularly to and fro on its axis between two extreme positions when driven by a connecting rod from a continuously rotating crank. The drum is pierced with diametral cylinder bore contg. a reciprocating depositor piston. The bore is beneath the hopper outlet, with piston retracted, for one extreme position of the drum. For the other extreme position of the drum, the bore opens to a discharge location and the piston is advanced to deposit a dough lump. In order to provide a dwell period for at least one extreme position of the drum, the pivot pin linking the connecting rod to the drum can slide for a limited length in the drum fitting in a direction aligned with the axis of the connecting rod, i.e. carnk motion is briefly absorbed without moving the drum. The sliding motion is pref. partly free and partly against spring resistance. The suction stroke length of depositor piston is pref. adjustable to the required delivery vol.
