Abstract

The medical rehabilitation apparatus allows active vertebral elongation of the cervical segment of the spine. It comprises a fixed support (SF), on which there pivots by its bottom end a flexible profiled component (EP). On the latter there is mounted at an adjustable height a supporting member for the base of the skull of the patient (P). The pivoting component works in a plane parallel to the support, so as to give slight elongation as it moves towards the latter, and an elastic device (ME) acts between component and support, so as to place the muscles under slow, gentle and progressive tension. Support, component and device together form a triangle.
