Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour éliminer l'eau par filtration sous une pression d'au moins 10 kg/cm**2, d'une suspension aqueuse d'argile ayant une distribution de dimension particulaire telle qu'i y ait d'environ 1 à 20 % en poids de particules ayant un diamètre sphérique équivalent intérieur à 1 mu . Avant la filtration, on traite la suspension avec un floculant polyélectrolyte soluble dans l'eau et ayant une forte densité de charges positives. Application à l'élimination de l'eau des suspensions aqueuses de kaolin blanc utilisable comme charge dans la fabrication de papier et de produits similaires.
