Abstract

L'invention concerne l'industrie des composés organiques halogénés. Elle a pour objet un procédé pour produire le 1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroéthane, suivant lequel on fait réagir en phase vapeur, à une température élevée, un halogénoéthane de formule CX3 CH2 Y, où X représente le brome, chlore ou le fluor et Y représente le brome ou le chlore, avec du fluorure d'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur qui est de l'oxyde de chrome ou qui est au moins pour partie du fluorure de chrome basique. Ce procédé est préféré pour la production du 1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroethane de haute pureté.
