Abstract

Appts. for forming microperforations in flexible plastic sheets, bags, etc. comprises a revolving roller bearing detachable rings with fixed projecting peripheral and radial spikes of triangular cross-section. The sheet is driven between this roller and a cylindrical brush which provides counter-support allowing the initial perforating action. The spikes and the distance between the bristles of the brush allow formation of lips which act as valves, allowing passage of a fluid in one direction but not in the other. The faces of the spikes are pref. concave. The microperforations are partic. suitable for blocking passage of humid air, and the bags are used for storage of all powdered prods. e.g. salt, flour, etc..
