Abstract

The bicycle tool has a spindle (S) with radial levers (7) and threaded (2) and plain (3) sliding sleeves, and is used to locate the fixed chain-wheel and pedal axle bearing cup (4) in the cycle frame (9). A tempered steel spindle may be deployed with fixed (1) and screw-adjustable (8) milled heads at opposite ends. The threaded centering sleeve (2) is located by the fixed head, and screws into one end of the tubular bearing cage (9). The opposite spindle end inc. a sliding arrangement of a stepped sleeve (6) with radially projecting levers (7), a doubly rebated washer (5) and the plain centring sleeve (3). The bearing cup fits axially between the washer and the plain sleeve which is a close fit in the cage.
