Abstract

A pen has a writing tube (6) passing through the end of the housing (2) to rest against an ink distributor (4) mounted on the end of the ink cartridge (3) housed inside. The writing tip (5) receives ink by means of capillary attraction from the distributor, and has one or more channels down its centre. The writing tube is made of porous ceramic material, e.g. zirconium based material. The channel down the middle may be of oval cross-section. The writing tube may be made simply, by extruding the paste from a spinneret, with the hole down the centre, followed by a baking stage in a conventional manner.
