Abstract

The coupling is for joining together two prestressing cables in such a way that the secondary cable can be put in position after the primary cable has been incorporated into a structure and tensioned. The secondary cable is anchored in an element with notches around its circumference. The wires which form the cable engage in the notches so that the anchors attaced to the ends of the wires rest on this anchor element. The anchor element of the secondary cable is positioned on the side of the secondary cable, in relation to the anchor element of the primary cable. It contains a threaded section which is screwed inside a corresponding hole made in the axis of the primary cable's anchor element.
