Abstract

The binding format selector consists of a rectangular flat plate which has a setting out point at the lower left hand corner and is marked out with line etc. perpendicular and parallel to this point such that zones are formed, an appropriate reference for each zone being printed on the plate at the top right hand corner of each zone. The reference define the binding format and also other characteristics which affect binding such as the material to be bound. Prohibited zones can be marked by hatching on the plate or by a lack of reference information.
