Abstract

The machine has a stack of empty sachets at one end, these dropping into a holder and being held vertically. Holders are spaced along a conveyor and enter a tunnel filled with steam. The satchets remain closed until they are inside the tunnel. The sachets are opened inside the tunnel and a jet of steam or inert gas removes all residual air. Each sachet passes under a filler head which inserts a measured quantity of the product, this also having had all surplus air removed. Another jet injects an inert gas and the sachet is sealed hermetically before leaving the tunnel.
