Abstract
A device for pumping water from small boats which are left moored and unattended for considerable periods of time, and which is self operating, can be mounted between boat and the buoy or wharf to which it is moored. It is then operated by the movement of the boat due to the rocking action of the waves. A bellows tube (1) is mounted between plates (3, 5) with rods (15) through the plates, acting as guides and carrying return springs (17). A U-shaped rod (6, 11) is attached to the plate for attachment to the morring cable (9) and line (12) from the bows of the boat respectively. A discharge tube (18) one end of the bellows is fitted with a flap valve (19) and a tube (21) the other end, terminates inside the hull to the region where water collects. The rocking motion operates the bellows to discharge the water. The device can be built into the hull.
