Abstract

Heat-sensitive foil for thermographic reproduction comprises two outer layers (15, 16) of transparent polyester between which is arranged a carrier sheet (10), also of transparent polyester, to one side of which a layer (11) of liquid crystal has been applied. Latter layer is covered with an opaque sheet (12). The outer layers are adhered to the carrier and opaque sheets respectively. The softness and low thermal conductivity of polyester give the foil good pliability and resistance to tearing as well as good printing discrimination. Used espec. in the diagnosis of breast cancer.
