Abstract

The supporting structure for parabolic telecommunications aerial allows rapid and accurate adjustment of azimuth and installation on difficult terain. The design is intended to provide simplicity and low cost with precision direction adjustment. The aerial bowl is supported off the ground by three struts (5, 6) attached by pivots (10) to the opposite sides of the dish (1) and to its back face by a pivoting collar (11) on a shaft (3) extending away from the back. All three struts are brought into a common ball joint (8) at ground level. Support for the structure is provided by a pair of guy wires (13) attached to the pivot points on the side of the dish, the guys extending forward and backwards.
