Abstract

The cap (5) is plastic and has an inner lip (1a) sealing inside the bottle neck (4), with a tight fit to resist the pressure of the gaseous liquid inside. An annular recess between inner lip and outer sides (6) receives the bottle rim (3). A screw thread (8) in the cap cooperates with one (9) on the bottle neck. Below this cap thread are several short ribs or bosses (10a) which fit over the plain portion of the bottle, below its thread, and bow out the cap sides. This causes the cap rim (11) to turn in under the bottle neck, and prevent it loosening.
