Abstract
The system converts freight aircraft for V.I.P. passenger use, and involves building a number of small compartments or "igloos". These "igloos" are constructed from frames of light alloy tube (26-31), subsequently covered with plastic coated aluminium sheets. The structures are slid into position on the rollers used for the cargo palettes and anchored to the floor. The small gaps between adjacent "igloos" are filled with U-section resilient joints. A partition (20) forms a gangway for access to each "igloo". The "igloos" are fitted out as offices, bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchens. The gap between the "igloo" wall and aircraft skin (1) provides additional thermal and acoustic insulation.
