Abstract

The top part of the girder forms a box shape made of perforated metal, preferably triangular in cross-section, with the apex pointing downwards. The shape may also be square, polygonal or round, and may contain a core. The top part is divided into two symmetrical halves. The bottom part is soldered, riveted, bolted or otherwise joined to the top part, and may have a cross-section shaped like an I or inserted T. The upper surface of the girder has a central longitudinal notch, up to which the lower part may extend.
