Abstract

A clip for attaching flexible tubes or covers such as radiator hoses in cars, to rigid pipe ends consists of a spring material band (10) circular in form when free and having a narrower tongue (11) with outwardly turned tip (13) at one end and a hole (14) at the other end. The hole is rectangular and of a width to guide the narrow tongue when inserted, insertion being simplified by the outwardly turned tip. A series of teeth (20) are pressed in the outside face of the tongue and these engage with a spring pawl (18) which is pressed out during the formation of the rectangular hole. When the tongue is inserted in the hole a ratchet and pawl is therefore formed. Pressure to tighten the clip is applied by pliers to a raised portion (16) near the tongue and to the turned back other end (15) of the clip.
