Abstract

A cylindrical container is made of malleable plastic material and has a stopper at the end of a tapering neck (3). The empty container is placed inside a sleeve (30) and a piston (31) applies pressure to the base, so that the base of the container is reversed and is pushed towards the neck. The volume of the container may be reduced to very small proportions of the original size. The collapsed containers may be stacked in only a small volume. The original volume may be restored by applying compressed air to the bottle and blowing it back to shape.
