Abstract

The injector is particularly for hydrocarbon fuels, having a sprayer head fixed to a body with an injection passage and a partial fuel recovery passage. A movable rod (23) acts as a valve shutting off the recovery passage (12) and in a seat (24) is formed in the head round a port in the recovery passage. The sprayer head (1) can consist of a capnut (3) enclosing a sleeve (6), in which the recovery passage extends in the axial direction and opposite the spray orifice (11). The valve seat is at the opposite end of the passage to this orifice.
