Abstract

A shotgun cartridge has a charge made up of dart shaped lead members with helical grooves along their sides, instead of using conventional pellets. Thus, they will travel further for the same explosive charge and will travel further and faster, and the grooves give a spin for greater accuracy. They may be all the same length, or of different lengths, and the same diameter or different diameters or a mixture of these sizes. They may be sharp or round nosed or a mixture of both. They can be arranged as a normal charge or logarithmic charge, for different types of game.
