Abstract
The switching circuit employs a power transistor (5) via which an inductance (2) e.g. the motor energising winding, is connected to a DC source. The transistor emitter is directly coupled to one side of the inductance (2), while the transistor base is connected to the other side of the inductance (2) via an opposing diode (8) and a series variable resistor (13). Pref. the power transistor is of pnp type, with its collector connected to earth and with the base connected to the collector of a control transistor (9) of npn type, the base of this transistor receiving the switching pulses. The power transistor (5) may be protected by a relatively low resistor (14) connected between the emitter and base. The switching circuit may be used for a stepping motor used for forwarding a cine film web.
