Abstract

Additional air is fed into the intake channel of petrol i.c. engines downstream of the throttle flap and the opening of the idling channel of the carburettor by an appts. comprising a tubular flange-like intermediate piece in the intake channel, with an infeed channel for the additional air, in which are a regulating element and following outflow openings opening into the intake channel. These openings for the additional air are in a hollow crossbar connected to the infeed channel for intake air; the long axis of the crossbar coincides with a dia. of the intake channel. Intensive and uniform mixing of the petrol/air mixt. with the additional air is obtd. freeing the exhaust gases of noxious components.
