Abstract

Device which reacts to variations in the speed of machine elements, esp. for pressure die casting machines. The novelty is that the device consists of a coil joined to a permanent magnet, a guide-tube passing through the coil, and a magnet core which can slide through the tube. The coil is pref. tubular or annular, located coaxially w.r.t. the tube and connected by its end surface to a ring magnet coaxial with the tube. The magnet core is pref. a permanent magnet and the assembly is pref. housed in a common casing of light metal, esp. aluminium. An inexpensive device suitable, e.g. for mounting on the piston-rod of the injection piston in a pressure die casting machine so that a signal is generated when the piston speed alters.
