Abstract

The barrels are accommodated in transportable frames each containing several of them. These circulate around a track inside the silo and past the loading and unloading positions in it. There can be several compartments in the silo, each with a circulating track for the frames, and running in a vertical plane, mechanisms being included for raising and lowering the frames and thrusting them horizontally. The number of frames in a silo or compartment can be such as to leave room for at least one more in the system, thus leaving a free space for transport individually or in groups. The barrels can be stored in the upright position.
