Abstract

The instrument for soil humidity determination comprises a condenser constructed from a piece of dielectric, such as bakelite (RTM) sandwiched between two metallic plates, typically of copper, which forms part of a high, frequency circuit. The condenser forms part of a probe, and is protected by layers of polyester resin, protected in turn by an outer coat of paint. The condenser lies in the pointed end section (6) of the probe blade (7). The flat end of the blade lies in a rectangular base (8) containing the electrical detector circuit, which is supplied by a single cable (9).
